Item description
Vintage original 14x36 in. US insert poster from the 1950's historical war drama/romance, CAPTAIN LIGHTFOOT, released in 1955 by Universal-International and directed by Douglas Sirk. In
1815, Michael Martin (Rock Hudson), member of an Irish revolutionary society, turns
highwayman to support it, and is forced to flee into outlawry. In Dublin, he
meets famous rebel "Captain Thunderbolt" (Jeff Morrow) and becomes his
second-in-command, "Lightfoot." 'Tis a perilous life, with captures,
turncoats, rescues, and romance.
The design features beautiful artwork of Rock Hudson and Barbara Rush that dominates the top half of the poster with a second image of Hudson hiding his face with a mask and carrying a pistol as he creeps towards a spooky-looking house. Tri-folded as originally issued, this vintage original insert poster is unrestored in very fine condition with a 1.75 in. vertical crease along the top edge of the right border; a 1 in. diagonal crease on the bottom right border; and light signs of wear on the bottom left corner. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, other flaws and the beautiful color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.
