Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the classic 1950's Biblical epic drama, THE TEN COMMANDMENTS, release in 1956 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Cecil B. DeMille, in which Moses, an Egyptian Prince (Charlton Heston), learns of his true heritage as a Hebrew and his divine mission as the deliverer of his people. The cast includes Yul Brynner, Anne Baxter, Edward G. Robinson, Yvonne De Carlo, Debra Paget, John Derek, Sir Cedric Hardwicke, Nina Foch, Martha Scott, Judith Anderson, and Vincent Price. This poster was issued for the film's 1966 US theatrical re-release (that was also distributed by Paramount Pictures) and is similar in design to the original release "Style A" one-sheet. The design effectively captures the epic scope of DeMille's best-remembered film: Moses (Charlton Heston) standing atop a rocky mountain holding the two sacred tables above his head as he angrily looks down upon the revealing mob worshipping a golden calf during his absence while the film's most famous sequence, "The parting of the Red Sea," unfolds behind them (they even put a caption about this scene at the bottom). Unrestored and folded as originally issued, this vintage original one-sheet is in fine+ condition with a very light extra vertical fold line on either center of the center vertical fold line; 1 in. of separation on the bottom of the center vertical fold line; small random horizontal creases in the left border; and small scattered surface creases from handling over time that are unobtrusive. The beautiful rich color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading. As a point of reference, the original 1956 release "Style A" one-sheet sells in the $750 range.
