Item description
CARNOTITE
Natural Uranium Rock
Weight: 2.6 oz Radiation: 53,300 CPM
$35.00 plus $12.80 shipping
I found this rock at New Mexico's Jurassic
Canyon uranium field, during October 2025.
CARNOTITE is one of the more common types
of uranium minerals; it is especially interesting
because RADIUM is often mixed with uranium
within Carnotite. During the early 1920s,
Polish-French scientist Marie Curie traveled
to Uravan Colorado to teach the underground
miners how to recognize carnotite rocks that
contain microscopic amounts of radium.
Carnotite often has a yellow color; yellow is
the natural color of uranium: U3O8 is
the name of its "yellowcake" compound.
