As with all my other rocks, the WHITE DOT
on the rock identifies the surface location
where radioactivity is strongest. CARNOTITE
is a common type of uranium rock; French-
Polish scientist Dr. Marie Curie was the first
person to notice that CARNOTITE often
contains tiny trace amounts of RADIUM; she
traveled to Uravan Colorado during the 1920s
to teach the miners there how to identify
Carnotite rocks that contain radium.
