Item description

Brand new factory sealed dvd is Out Of Print (OOP) and no longer being manufactured. This is a gatefold paper cardstock cover, these usually have credits and sometimes photos, chapter stops, etc. printed on the inside cover. Be very careful when opening this. It has a small strip of glass tape to seal a tear in the cellophane on the front right side of cover (see photo). A narrow strip of the tape (where the tear is) is in direct contact with the cardstock paper ad-art underneath. You will have to open and peel slowly and gingerly (Un-Do solvent or a hair dryer would help) so as not to lift the liner on the cardstock cover. In the 22nd Century, the Earth faces certain disaster as a magnetic storm degouses out all of American culture. Now time travellers must return to 1776 and reacquire the Constitution to fix things up. Call it 'Bill Ted's Excellant Adventure' meets 'Back to the Future'. David Cassidy, Olivia D' Abo, and Geoff Hoyle enter a time machine in 2176 planning to return to 1776 and find out what the American Constitution was. They end up in 1976 instead. This simple yet great idea lets the director throw in every lame '70s fad and cliche', and the results are often hilarious. Jeff and Steve Mc Donald (of the group Red Kross and 'Desperate Teenage Love Dolls') become the guides for the confused visitors from the future: 8-track tapes, Grand Funk, disco, gas lines, smile buttons, mood rings, and Constitution T-shirts all have to be explained. They also have to contend with finding materials to fix their busted machine. With Leif Garrett as "Eddie Trojan, the Bone Master", the Kipper Kids as comic CIA men, Iron Eyes Cody, Tommy Chong, Julie Brown, and Moon Zappa. The film was a real family affair. Director Lucas Reiner is the son of Rob (who plays a self-help seminar leader) and the grandson of Carl (who plays a sick old man visited by members of Devo in the prologue). Producer Susie Landau is the daughter of Barbara Bain, who is also in the movie. Roman Coppola was the executive producer. Lots of '70s music is on the soundtrack along with some new music by Red Kross and the Dickies ('Killer Klowns from Outer Space').
