The population was 1,605 in the 2020 census. An online site indicates the Broders Bros. and Tagge General Store operated successfully until the Great Depression. Once the Depression was over, the store reopened with much fanfare and thrived until the family was run out of town by the KKK for their commitment to Catholicism.
