Here we have a rare apothecary, pharmacy, chemist balance scale in a Anax Laboratory Equipment case. This scale was owned by a pharmacist as a talking piece in their locally owned pharmacy! They found it many years ago in a small thrift shop in Arizona. From what I can see the scale is not functional inside of the Anax case and therefore it became a decor piece for the pharmacy. Details: (measurements are approximate) Comes encased in a hard wood and glass case with the ANAX label on the top front of the case. The case comes with 3 feet on the bottom for stability. Case Measurements: 15? tall x 16.5? wide x 7.25? depth Scale Approximate Measurements: The ?T? if the scale is 10.75? tall x 10.5 wide. The round plates are 4.25?. The hang drop is approximately 8?. 250 GMS Condition: Vintage, non-working condition. This was a decor piece in a locally owned pharmacy for many years. The front of the glass case slides up and off for easy access to the scale. The wood shows scuffing, scratches, rubbing wear, small and large discoloration spots, and some gouges. The scale is how you see it in photos. I can?t guarantee every piece that should be there is accounted for. The metal on the scale shows scratching, scuffing, discoloration, black paint is missing in spots, patina, and slight rust spots.
