Offered here today is this Gorgeous Solid Wood Antique Slant Front Secretary. It has claw front feet and is in very good condition, however, it does have some light surface scratches and general wear that are typical of a piece that probably dates to the early 19th century, although I cannot be completly sure of its age. It has lovely carved accents and trim. The key is intact with it and the little side supports come out automatically when the front writing desk surface is lowered. Someone has unfortunately drilled a hole in the back that is about 2" in diameter. The desk has 4 drawers with all of the original knobs intact. It stands 41" tall at the trim at the back, 40" tall at the top, is 41" wide at the feet, 37" wide at the top, and is a total of 22" deep at the bottom, and 19" deep at the top. With the desk writing surface lowered the desk is 32" deep. It is a gorgeous antique secretary, with a beautiful finish and wood grain. It would be a magnificent addition to any antique collection.
