Item description

Vintage original 8 x 10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1940s comedy/drama romance, THE TALK OF THE TOWN, released in 1942 by Columbia Pictures and directed by George Stevens, in which an escaped prisoner has to prove his innocence to a stuffy law professor with the help of a spirited school teacher. Printed for a Castle Hill Productions release of the 1984 documentary, GEORGE STEVENS: A FILMMAKER'S JOURNEY, the image depicts an on-set shot featuring director George Stevens, the script girl, Cary Grant, Jean Arthur, and Ronald Colman. This actual photo was used for publication in a newspaper and features the actual clipping affixed to the verso, along with a paper snipe that describes the image. It is in very fine condition as shown.
