Item description

Vintage original 7 x 9 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1970s television sitcom, MAUDE, created by Norman Lear. The image depicts an interior shot of Maude (Beatrice Arthur) taking care of her husband, Walter (Bill Macy) after Arthur refuses to treat him because of a doctor's strike. This photograph was used for publication in a newspaper and features grease pencil marks on the recto. Affixed to the verso is the corresponding newspaper clipping of this photograph along with the original paper snipe that folds over to the front and describes the image. It is in fine+ condition as shown. Provenance: The Hearst Los Angeles Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
