Item description
Pre-viewed for quality and everything looks fine. No frills movie only blu-ray edition.
The first Hollywood film by the biggest director in Holland is a classic. Few movies have so successfully combined all-out action, science fiction, and very pointed political satire.
Peter Weller is Murphy, a Detroit cop in the near future who is brought back from near death as a crime-fighting robot (created by Rob Bottin). ED 209, another fantastic (stop-motion animated) robot, malfunctions violently during a board-room meeting. Daniel O'Herliy and Ronnie Cox are corporate villains, and Kurtwood Smith is excellant as a gang leader.
Some of the TV commercials that frequently interrupt the action are classics in themselves. With Nancy Allen, Miguel Ferrer, Ray Wise, and Leeza Gibbons. Sequels, a cartoon series, a TV series, and a re-make followed.
The director did 'Total Recall' next.
