Item description
Brand New factory sealed flipper disc dvd in a gatefold card cover snapcase. These usually have chapter stops and or stills from the movie, credits, etc. printed on the inside cover. Disc has both the full screen version for old school TV's on one side or widescreen for newer HD sets.
Set in Tulsa in the mid '60s, its the story of a teen gang from the wrong side of the tracks and their conflicts with society and each other. The story of rich kid "socs" vs. poor greasers was a launching pad for many teen actors.
C. Thomas Howell stars (as Ponyboy), Patrick Swayze as Darrel Rob Lowe (as Sodapop) are his brothers. With Matt Dillon (Dallas), Ralph Macchio (Johnny), Emilio Estevez (Two-Bit), Tom Cruise (Steve), Leif Garrett (Bob), Diane Lane as Cherry Valance, Michelle Meyrink, and William Smith as a store clerk.
Melodramatic and over-done at times, but teenagers still love the story. Nice-looking would-be epic benefits from Dean Tavoularis' production design. S. E. Hinton wrote the OUTSIDERS when she was only 17. Popular enough that it spawned a TV series.
