Item description
Vintage original 14x22 in. US window card from the 1930's U.S. Department of Justice-themed action crime/drama, MEN WITHOUT NAMES, released in 1935 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Ralph Murphy. A story about the U. S. Department of Justice and its agents
that begins with a daring mail-truck robbery by a ruthless gang that flees to
the western United States after the robbery. When money from the robbery shows
up in a small Kansas town, the department sends agent Dick Grant to investigate,
posing as a businessman. He is hindered in his assignment by a local newspaper
reporter, Helen Sherwood, and when he falls in love with her, he is unable to
reveal to her who he really is and why he is there.
The image features great artwork depicting a close shot of Richard Hood (Fred MacMurray) with his arms protectively around Helen Sherwood (Madge Evans) which is interestingly r entered in black-and-white as they are exposed by the beam of a flashlight held by a man shown in silhouette with a smoldering cigarette in his mouth as their shadow is cast on the wall behind them. The diagonal and horizontal lines of the flashlight beam, coupled with the stark orange and pink-colored background, creates somewhat of an Art Deco feel to the image. The window card has the slightest trim across the top blank imprint space and it has been linen-backed. It is in good condition only with stains in the top of the imprint space; creases of varying sizes on the corners; amateur restoration on Miss Evan's face, in a small portion of the shadow of MacMurray's head and in the bottom credits area; areas of paper loss on the bottom of the card; and small nicks on the right border. The color tints are fresh and vibrant without any indications of fading.
This vintage original window card will be shipped flat between multiple pieces of sturdy cardboard to prevent damage while in transit.
