Item description
HAND-PAINTED MACHIG LABDRON TIBETAN THANGKA OIL VARNISHED ART WITH SILK BROCADE
DESCRIPTION
This is an original oil-varnished hand-painted Thangka of Machig Labdron (also known as Ahdron Chodron in Tibetan), bordered with premium silk brocade. This masterpiece honors one of the most influential female masters in Tibetan Buddhism ? a symbol of wisdom, courage, and realization.
Machig Labdron (1055?1149) was a great tantric yogini, teacher, and lineage founder who developed the Chod (Cutting Through the Ego) practice within the Vajrayana tradition. She is regarded as a reincarnation of Yeshe Tsogyal, the spiritual consort of Guru Padmasambhava, and her teachings continue to inspire practitioners worldwide.
This Thangka embodies the union of Prajnaparamita philosophy and Tantra Guru Yoga, symbolizing the direct cutting through of illusion and attachment. The image of Machig Labdron radiates both serenity and power, reflecting her profound realization of emptiness and compassion.
The oil varnish applied to this Thangka enhances the colors, adds a soft luster, and protects the artwork, ensuring its longevity and timeless appeal.
