Item description
Put simply I had to carry this dang thing a good four hundred yards out of the woods and I expect to get no less than a pizza out of it, and make that a large with extra cheese. As you can see it was cut curved and that may have to do with the grade it was on, such grading also suggested by the wear on the top. Some rust but not nicked up or pitted. Piece itself could date from anytime after the war probably into the nineties, and it may have been cut off any time from those years until last month. It plainly was used on the track so it had to be in place long enough to receive that wear. Kind of has a steamship look to it, the curved cut end makes a perfect prow. Strikes me as ideal for a small metalwork anvil or dolly, and that is something I see others selling them for. If you are considering this for such and are new to the notion, with a file and/or a grinder and/or some emery cloth you can shine it up rather well. And has two holes in the vertical section which makes it easy to strap down.
Thirty pounds or very close to it plus shipping box. Too big for any of the USPS Flat Rate boxes but they can still be the cheapest if it doesn't have to ship too far. For most potential buyers it is probably cheaper by UPS. Please note I do not live near a UPS drop-off location; I most often can catch a driver to give a parcel to but if not it may be a couple of weeks.
