Item description
A rare vintage Japanese postcard from the 1960s, issued by the Kinsui Ryokan (????) in Atami, Japan. This card was part of a special service for climbers of Mount Fuji, offering two meals included for 500 – a unique glimpse into mid-20th-century tourism culture in Japan.
The front features a purple Torii gate ink stamp, likely referencing a nearby shrine (possibly Kinomiya Jinja), with printed details for filling in the arrival date and time. The bottom provides hotel information including address, price, and vintage phone number.
The reverse is a pre-stamped official postal card (2 value) from Japan Post, with designated spaces for recipient details. The condition is excellent for its age, with no writing or damage.
Perfect for collectors of:
– Japanese tourism memorabilia
– Vintage ryokan ephemera
– Mount Fuji climbing history
– Shinto shrine and torii artwork
– Japanese postal history
