Vintage CARL BUTLER Fan Lithograph Card
4" x 7" Black White Columbia Records promo card from the 1950s -1960s
Born Carl Roberts Butler in Knoxville, Tennessee, he was working as a singer-guitarist at a radio station and signed a contract with Capitol Records in 1950. In 1952, he signed with Columbia and became best known for "Carl and Pearl Butler" a duet act with his wife. They joined the Grand Ole Opry in 1962 and became regular members of the Porter Wagoner TV show. Through the 1960's, they had many country chart hits to include "Don't Let Me Cross Over", "I Wouldn't Change You If I Could", "Loving Arms", " Forbidden Street", "Just Thought "I'd Let You Know" and "Punish Me Tomorrow". He also wrote songs recorded by artist Roy Acuff, Rosemary Clooney, Carl Smith, Ricky Scaggs and Bill Monroe.
The card is complete and in FINE condition with some overall light wear. This is an original piece from the time period stated and came from the collection of a fan who collected country music memorabilia firsthand through the years. (see pictures)
