Item description
THE PAYING GUESTS
By Sarah Waters
(London): Virago, (2014).
First edition, first printing.
"First published in Great Britain in 2014 by Virago Press" statement to the copyright page.
SIGNED to the title page by the OBE Welsh author of the film adapted, multi-award-winning novel AFFINITY.
An historical novel set in South London in the 1920s features a daughter who has an affair with a lady lodger, and involves a deep investigation of murder.
A few very minor soil marks to the covers, mild crimp to the upper spine edge, else near fine, tight and probably unread in black boards with blind embossed titles to the front cover and with cream titles and a light-beaming doorway mystery illustration to the spine, gold-threaded headband and tail-band, yellow-and-white geometric patterned end-papers; in a very nearly fine dust jacket, with a mild surface scratch to the rear panel and minute rubs to the shelf-edges; original printed 20.00 price still intact to the front inner flap.
Octavo; 566 pages.
