Item description
Flying
Saucers of the Lord
by
David F. McConnell
Economy
Printing Company; Miami, FL
small
octavo unbound (5.5? x 8.5?), 47 pp, almost near fine
(1969)
no stated edition
An
unusual book that discusses every verse in the Bible (assumed King
James version) that the author believes makes some reference to
flying saucers and as he puts it ?are vehicles of the Lord and his
angels?. He finds 115 verses that meet this criterion: 86 in the
Old Testament and 29 in the New Testament. Naturally, Ezekiel and the
wheel (Ezekiel 1:4) are in there, but most of these verses listed are
a bit of a stretch:
II
Chronicles 14:12 ?So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa,
and before Judah, and the Ethiopians fled.
Asa
was at peace in Judah when they were attacked by a superior force of
the Ethiopians from
near
Cush. The Lord smote the attacking enemy with flying saucers. Asa and
the people with
him
took a great spoil and returned to Jerusalem.
Get
the picture? Not exactly big-time scholarly research. A lot of these
are pure fantasy conclusions, and some border on the bizarre and
ridiculous. But, since this was back in the 60s, there's a good
chance that assorted chemicals might have been involved during the
research and writing of this book. Assign any level of seriousness to
it that you want.
This
item is unbound, in an unattached gloss cardboard cover (the Economy
Printing Company lived up to its name) with faint rubbing and very
light toning along the spine. Pages are clean and intact. Has a small
one-dollar handwritten price in red at top right of front cover, and
a red stamp for Kingdom Digest in Dallas, Texas [a religious
magazine] on the front also. Otherwise fine.
A
very obscure and rare publication, that only has a couple of mentions
on the entire
internet.
