The best setup is to have running water on the material and keep removing the hole saw / bit out of the hole every 15 to 20 seconds so no heat can ever build up, now for a lot of situations this is not possible so the next best thing is to just have a container of cold water next to you and keep removing the hole saw from the hole every 10 to 15 seconds and dip the hole saw cutting edge into the water.
