Item description
BATS FLY AT DUSK
By A.A. Fair, pseudonym of Erle Stanley Gardner
New York: William Morrow and Company, 1942.
First edition.
Former owner's embossed seal to the title-page, else near fine in light blue cloth; in a very good plus. modestly shelf worn dust jacket light chipping to the crown of the spine, nicks to the heel of the spine and shelf edges, rubbing along the front flap fold, and a few tiny edge tears.
"Private detective Bertha Cool is hired by a blind man to find a girl hit
by a car, a young woman who had been employed by the wealthy, eccentric
Harlow Milders, who had recently died under suspicious circumstances."--Fantastic Fiction.
A very scarce first edition in the Bertha Cool and Donald Lam detective series.
