I just do not have time to keep doing it." The response was hand written on the original postmarked transmittal envelope. The Envelope original 3 Page fan letter/Poem was torn in half and the envelope was taped together from the inside. This is part of an extremely rare collection I will be listing in the months ahead. This collection was originally acquired by Bob Allen a well known celebrity collector/ autograph hound. Mr. Allen collected Katharine Hepburn's trash outside her Town House on 244 East 49th St. in New York City during a 4 year period from 1988-1992. Each piece will accompany a COPY of of a letter from Mr. Allen stating these facts. Miss Hepburn would hand write responses directly on her fan mail and her secretary who I believe was either Sharon Powers or Phyllis Wilbourn would then type them up on Miss Hepburn's stationary. Many of these letters show a an often bizarre side of Miss. Hepburn. You get an insight to a personal side of her that was not well known. The majority of the handwritten items are not signed because they were intended for only her secretary to see and document her responses. Miss Hepburn also destroyed many of the items by tearing them in half, as they were intended for the trash. These were later salvaged and then some were taped back together.
