Item description
THE KEY MAN
By Clarence Budington Kelland
Dust Jacket Art by A. Leslie Ross
New York: Walter J. Black, (1952).
Early reprint edition.
Originally published by Harper in 1952 with the same hard-boiled dust jacket art by A. Leslie Ross.
A look at "behind the scenes of big-time television" in this well-plotted crime mystery where a key man is set up for murder, and a dangerous gang piles on suspense with smuggling and blackmail.
The television show, and murder, involves a beautiful blonde soprano, a banjo player, other musicians, a show director, show people, and a black man.
The binding of the book has the publisher, "Black" printed to the spine, but the dust jacket has the original first edition publisher, 'Harper' printed tothe spine panel.
Nice!
Upper corner tips slightly bumped, else near fine in textured oatmeal colored boards with burgundy embossed titles and rules to the spine; in a very good dust jacket with very short edge tears, and with small chips to the upper and lower spine edges.
Nicely presentable and well-preserved in dust jacket.
