Let's Get Lost
by Jim McHugh
Los Angeles: A I - Fine Art Gallery Books, [2010].
Limited edition.
Book is fine; in a very nearly fine dust jacket.
Inscribed and SIGNED by author on title page.
The photographic exhibition catalog for the Let's Get Lost showing at Timothy Yarger Fine Art in Beverly Hills from May 22-June 30, 2010 by Los Angeles artist Jim McHugh (born c.1955). He is known for his stark, minimalist large-format Polaroids of people and buildings; and has been, as he says, "photographing common things in an uncommon matter for thirty years". He is the grandson of golden-era songwriter Jimmy McHugh, who wrote the song "Let's Get Lost" for Frank Sinatra; and his mother was a contract actress for RKO Studios. A scarce book.
Jim McHugh sees through his lens darkly, he
strays into the dramatically charged neighborhoods occupied by
Hitchcock, Orson Welles and Raymond Chandler. Joseph Giovannini
Black boards with no titles. Pictorial dust jacket. Large quarto: size is 8-3/4" by 11-1/4". B/w, sepia and color illustrations from photographs. 92 pages.
