Item description

TWO O'CLOCK EASTERN WARTIME: A Novel By John Dunning. New York: Scribner, (2001). First edition, first printing; Fingerprint Signed issue. First printing number code sequence 1 through 10 to the copyright page. SIGNED by the late author to the publisher's satirical 'Unlimited Two O'Clock' signature page together with Dunning's 'Scarred, embattled ring finger' original fingerprint. The scar, caused by an early injury, is noticeable in the fingerprint. The entire Fingerprint Edition comprised approximately 2500 copies, and the Scarred Ring Finger print portion of the print-run was approximately 50 to 500 copies, (four other fingers were used for fingerprints for this entire edition). Set during WWII in Regina Beach, New Jersey, with a focus on radio (of which Dunning was a scholar and renowned expert), in a community of radio artists and technicians, featuring Jack Jack Dulaney searching for a singer's missing father. Fine, tight, square and firm in black linen boards over smooth blue boards with silver embossed titles to the spine, red headband and tail-band; in a fine dust jacket illustrated by Shasti O'Leary; Silver 'Fingerprint edition' sticker to the front panel, original printed $26.00 price still intact to the front inner flap.
