Batteries were put in both and the battery indicator dial works properly. When turning up the volume on both you can hear static on each. When I try to do the call, or push to talk nothing happens on either. Not sure if I am just too close or too much static on the channel but I cant hear anything come through. Maybe this is expected using then side by side or maybe someone knows the simple fix. You are buying as is with that understanding.
