Vintage Waddingtons Toothache electronic dentist game (1979). Game is complete and WORKS. A great display in any dentist's office. Players attempt to pull teeth from four unlucky victims. If the metal probe comes into contact with the wrong tooth, the game lets out a startling SCREAM. Players select one of four dentist character cards (Dr. I Pullem, Dr. X. Tractum, Dr. O. Penwide, Dr. Phil McCavity). Patient cards (Ivor Payne, Willy Howl, Pearl E. White, and Gladys Over) are placed on the game base. Each patient has teeth that need to be pulled, simulated with plastic teeth that pop into place. Players approach the game board from behind (like a real dentist) and, using the included mirror and metal probe, they attempt to pop out the plastic teeth. The metal probe is attached to the base. The back of the patient card is covered in foil. If the metal probe touches the foil around the tooth, it completes a circuit (using one 9V battery) and the miniature speaker lets out a shrill SCREAM. Players keep score based on the number of teeth they successfully remove. Box condition: The box is worn and one corner of the lid has torn along multiple seams. Appears easily fixable with tape. The electronic mechanism works with a 9V battery (not included). The battery terminals are clean with no visible signs of rust or corrosion.
