Description: This colorful souvenir 6 inch late of the HAUTES ALPES department of Southeastern France was purchased in 1985 during a vacation Europe. This area is located in the Alps mountain range which includes the Ecrins National Park. There is a large title near the center that says HAUTES ALPES. The plate has 7 figures representing communes, towns, mountain passes, resorts, and national parks of the area.
Briancon: In the center there is the commune of Briancon (city greater than 2000 residents).
Starting at 1 o’clock on the plate going clockwise, the other figures are: Montgenevre (commune); Col d’Izoard (high mountain pass); (6 o’clock) Serre Chevalier (major ski resort); Puy-Saint-Vincent (commune); Les Ecrins (Les Ecrins national park); (12 o’clock) Col du Lautaret (high mountain pass).
