What Dulcolax is and what it is used for:
Dulcolax is a laxative with local action, which stimulates the peristaltic movements of the intestine and decreases the consistency of the feces. Because it is a laxative that acts in the colon, Dulcolax specifically stimulates the natural process of evacuation from the lower digestive tract. For this reason, Dulcolax does not alter the digestion or absorption of calories or essential nutrients in the small intestine.
Dulcolax is used
- in patients with constipation.
- in the preparation of medical investigations, before and after operations as in all cases that require the facilitation of the evacuation of faeces.
Recommended dose
For constipation:
- Adults: use 1 suppository (10 mg bisacodil). Suppositories usually take effect 10-30 minutes after administration. Do not exceed the maximum recommended daily dose.
- Children 10 years of age and older: use 1 suppository (10 mg bisacodil). Suppositories usually take effect 10-30 minutes after administration. Do not exceed the maximum recommended daily dose.
- Children aged 2-10 years: for these patients Dulcolax is available in appropriate presentation forms. You should not take treatment for chronic constipation or persistence in patients 10 years of age or younger than your child's doctor.
