David Gilboa (1910-1976) David Gilboa was born in Romania in 1910. He studied at Academy of Fine Art, Bucharest at the years of 1927-29. He immigrated to Israel in 1933. David is one of the founders of the Artist's Quarter, Safed. David Gilboa was a landscape painter till he discovered the human element which had previously been of secondary importance and in no way a primary object (…). David Gilboa has turned portrait painting into his main field of action. Within a few years he has collected a whole gallery of character-paintings
