These lights are pretty much plug & play, but mounting them on your project is your responsibility. We do provide some free clips that may aid in your install. BUT for example DO NOT call and say these lights do not stick to my brick. It is your responsibility to fasten or affix these light to your particular surface. There are MANY different types of surfaces so please be creative. For most landscaping border and under mulch applications they can just be held in place by the weight of your stones or mulch etc. But if you want to add them to the underside of your deck or railing / banister you would need to use the clips or staples or some type of other mounting techniques. Once again, it all depends on your particular surface. These lights are spectacular as just plain white lights, but once you ad color to your view you will be amazed and surprised at how fun a little color can be.
