THIS VINTAGE/ANTIQUE COURTING COUPLS PORCELAIN ASHTRAY IS VERY UNIQUE.  IT LOOKS LIKE A NICE FIGURINE WHEN YOU LOOK AT IT STRAIGHT ON...BUT BEHIND THE COUPLE IS A RESERVOIR TO PUT LOOSE CIGARETTES AND ON THE SIDE OF THAT IS TWO REMOVABLE PORCELAIN ASHTRAYS WHICH ARE RIGHT TRIANGULAR IN SHAPE.  THE THIRD ASHTRAY IS PART OF THE FIGURINE.  ALL 3 PIECES HAVE THE BACKSTAMP MADE IN JAPAN.  ONE OF THE ASHTRAYS BOTTOM LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A CHIP OUT OF IT ... BUT IT IS MADE THAT WAY.
THERE IS SOME DAMAGE TO THIS PIECE.  ONE BEING A FLEA BITE ON ITS RIM IN THE MIDDLE ... AND IN THE CORNER A TINY CHIP.  THERE IS ALSO AN OLD CHIP OUT OF THE AREA WHERE THE ASHTRAYS REST.  (see photos).  BEINGS THIS PIECE IS VINTAGE THERE IS SOME PAINT LOSS BUT OVERALL IT IS A VERY NICE VICTORIAN LOOKING PIECE

MEASURES 4 1/2 INCHES TALL X 4 1/4 INCHES WIDE X 3 3/4 INCHES THICK.  IT IS UNUSUAL TO FIND THIS PIECE WITH THE REMOVEABLE ASHTRAYS.
