San Francisco Musical Porcelain Doll w Stand
Plays "Oh You Beautiful Doll," 18"
This is a truly gorgeous porcelain doll with a green satin Victorian-style dress trimmed in lace and pearls, a big lacy petticoat and lacy pantaloons. Her porcelain face is spectacular, so realistic you think she could talk to you, but instead, you wind her up and she plays, "Oh You Beautiful Doll." Her head, which is a bit loose, but still firmly attached is full of very long curly blond hair with a green ribbon that tries unsuccessfully to hold it all together.
The most noteworthy feature of the this doll in addition to the music box in her belly is her eyes. She has big green realistic eyes shaded by long, thick eyelashes. I used this feature to help me find the brand she is. Judging by the facial attributes I think this is a San Francisco Music Co. doll made in the late 1980s. Apparently they don't make them anymore but I found several examples at and Etsy sites.
The doll, name unknown, is about 18 inches tall, fully intact, and ready for your doll collection. If you can tell me more about it, I would love to hear from you because I couldn't find any markings on it and the original box is not available.
