About this serum:

Babyface's AHA Serum is a fast absorbing, aloe leaf & hyaluronic acid based serum with a silky feeling that contains a concentrated extract blend of five botanicals extracts: bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange, and lemon. These extracts contain several naturally occurring AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids).

This formula has been created for daily use. The concentration is effective, but gentle. It allows for daily use, and continued skin improvement, without literal peeling or irritation. Replace your need for occasional chemical peels by using this serum daily.

Along with all the nutrients, hydration and exfoliating properties, this serum makes a wonderful make-up primer, or a great replacement for those who don't want to wear a face foundation. It gives a beautiful and healthy glow to the skin, and skin barriers protect the skin from the elements and keep pores clear from dirt. And if you like to wear mineral make-up but still want that "J-Lo Glow" without the oily feeling - applying some of this serum over the make-up (on the top of your cheekbones and bridge of your nose) will give your skin radiance.

What AHA's Do:

Alpha hydroxy acids loosen and dissolve dead cells from the skin's surface, and help to regenerate new skin cells, aid in the control of acne, smooth rough dry skin, improve the texture of sun-damaged and aging skin and retain moisture which leaves your skin healthy and vibrant. Alpha hydroxy acids promote smoother, younger looking skin by increasing the rate of cell renewal.

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) have been used in skin care for many years. Originally, AHAs were used mainly by dermatologists as skin peeling and moisturizing agents. The AHAs we use in our serum are sourced from several species of plants which are put through an extraction process, which reduces color & odor, and concentrates the active principles. The acids produced after the breakdown of these ingredients is as follows: Lactic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Citric Acid, Malic Acid and Tartaric Acid. At a 10% dilution, these AHAs produced an average of 34% increase in cell renewal, and a 143% increase in the number of old cells exfoliated.

Along with the potent 12% strength of AHAs, we have added additional skin moisturizers to this formula to sooth and hydrate the skin. This serum is fantastic for the face, but clients have also discovered that it works wonders on hands and feet as well! It penetrates and hydrates almost instantaneously.

Usage

Apply once a day, preferably at bedtime. If using on thicker skin, such as body or feet, can be used twice a day if desired. If irritation occurs, cut back to every other day application. Although a certain amount of irritation is to be expected when using AHAs, if you experience discomfort or develop redness or mild rash, you can try cutting back to 2-3 days a week only, or simply discontinue use completely.

Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin’s sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn. Use a sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards.
