Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1920's silent film drama/romance, ANNA ASCENDS, released in 1922 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Victor Fleming. Based upon the play by Margaret Turnbull, the image depicts an interior shot depicting Nita Naldi, Charles K. Girard, Grace Griswold, Alice Brady, (unknown), and David Powell. It is in fine- condition with some of the actors' names handwritten in ink in the top border (which looks vintage); a 1.25 in. diagonal crease on the top left corner within the borders only; a 2 in. diagonal crease on the top right corner that enters the background area; a tiny chip on the bottom right corner; and a light vertical curl along the sides. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the image quality is razor-sharp with very fine detail and beautiful contrast.

Plot Summary: While on an African safari, a group of American big-game hunters and their wives run into unexpected hardships, and one of the women dies giving birth. The child, a girl named Agnes, is adopted by the haughty Mrs. Harrington and brought back to the US, where she is raised by the excessively strict Harrington. Years later, when Agnes is now a beautiful young woman, Mrs. Harrington tries to marry her off to the wealthy J. Wilson Rockmaine, but at a party attended by all concerned at the home of John Fairfax, burglars slip into the house to retrieve a large sum of money hidden there. Soon two murders are committed, the police are called and everyone, including Agnes, is under suspicion.
