Information on Back Markings: Plata is the Spanish word for Silver and 925 means that it is Sterling Silver. It was made in the City of "Guad" or Guadalajara, in the State of "Jal" or Jalisco in the Country of Mexico. From my research, I have found that the Eagle/Bell Assay Mark "19" has 7 names associated with it, none of which seem to use a symbol that looks like a Mayan pyramid. The "Eagle" mark is also known as the "Bell" mark and was the Mexican government assay mark which was used from approximately 1946 to 1979.
