Vintage original 27x40 in. US double-sided advance one-sheet poster from the epic 2000's remake of the classic "beauty and the beast" horror story, KING KONG, released in 2005 by Universal Pictures and directed by Peter Jackson. Based on a story by Merian C. Cooper and Edgar Wallace, a greedy film producer (Jack Black) assembles a team of moviemakers and sets out for the infamous Skull Island, where they find more than just cannibalistic natives. The cast includes Naomi Watts, Adrien Brody, Thomas Kretchsmann, Colin Hanks, Andy Serkis, and Evan Parke.

This double-sided advance one-sheet poster was issued for display inside of a light box at theaters before the film was released. It is one of several different styles of advance one-sheets that were created to advertise this film, which consists of a close shot of the face of Kong with the film's release date at the bottom. Unrestored and rolled as originally issued, this vintage original double-sided advance one-sheet poster is in very fine condition with just a few very small creases from handling over time. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws.

It took eighteen months to craft the CGI version of the Empire State Building--the real thing was built in fourteen months. The scene where Denham, Driscoll, and the crew fall into a pit filled with giant bugs is a reference to a scene in the original King Kong (1933), where the crew fell into a pit, and were devoured by giant spiders, which was cut after many members of preview audiences ran out of the theater in horror during the scene (the original scene has never been found). In 2005, for a new DVD edition of the original film, Jackson and his team at WETA recreated the sequence as a bonus feature with stop-motion animation techniques that were virtually identical to the techniques used by the original filmmakers.
