For your consideration is a Antique 1938 Handmade Women's Satin and Lace Wedding Gown And Viel w/ Box. This gown was made in 1938 and worn once on Thanksgiving Day 1938. Unfortunately due to age, it has visible staining on the gown and a couple holes on the mesh of the veil. Black staining on the left side, small stain under the neck, stains around the bottom, and small stains on the back of the gown. Missing pearl stones in the upper metal two attached brooches. Gown has satin buttons at the end of the arms. One button missing. This gown has a under slip with gown overflowing over the slip showing the lace on the slip. Gown measures 17" armpit to armpit x 30" waist x 85" long from the top to the bottom. The slip has staining under one armpit. Has lovely quality lace extending down the center. Slip measures 17 1/2" armpit to armpit x 29" waist x 55" long. The slip clips up the side. There are a couple holes in the veil's mesh and one area where the viel that connects to the crown is unattached. The viel measures 120" long x 72" at widest extended point. Viel has white and beige plastic floral surround. Comes with John Wanamaker box from Philadelphia. Box has one corner of the lid unattached. Box has metal secure attachments on each corner of both the lid and boxes bottom. Nice quality box.
