Description

Offered here is this Great Hard Cover Edition of The Chocolate Cow, by Lilian Obligado.  It is in very good condition.  The dust jacket has some light stains on it, as well as some light wear at the corners and edges. There is a name and inscription inside the front cover, but it is not by the author.  The spine and binding are good, and all pages are intact and in good condition. This book has a copyright date of 1993, and was published by Simon & Schuster.  It is a first edition, but most likely not a first printing.  It is a very nice little children's book...
For centuries Swiss farmers have taken their dairy herds high into the Alps, where the rich milk is made into cheese.  This year Pierre is worried.  His father wants to sell Melody, Pierre's own cow, because she no longer gives enough milk.  With Melody leading the way, the herd winds its way up the mountain in a colorful procession.  All summer long Pierre feeds Melody the best grass in the hope she will give more milk.  Then, just before it's time to leave, a terrible storm rages through the mountains.  Melody is lost!  Ancient customs lend color to this contemporary story of a courageous cow, gloriously painted against an awesome backdrop of the majestic alpine landscape...
