Vintage original 26 x 40 in. double-sided advance (or "teaser") poster from the cult classic horror film, HOSTEL, released in 2005, written and directed by Eli Roth. Presented by Quentin Tarantino, three backpackers head to a Slovak city that promises to meet their hedonistic expectations, with no idea of the hell that awaits them.

This is one of the original advance (or "teaser") posters, which was issued for display at theaters before the film was released, and it was printed double-sided for display inside of a light box. The text at the bottom beneath Roth's credit ("In theaters January 13th") indicates that this is one of the advance posters, which are more rare than the general release posters, since usually fewer of them were printed. We met the film's writer/director, Eli Roth, at a signing at the former Meltdown Comics on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, where he signed the poster for us in silver Sharpie (see corresponding image). Unrestored and rolled as originally issued, this vintage original advance one-sheet poster is in very fine+ condition with two small vertical creases along the right border in the top half. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws.

The interior of the slaughterhouse was filmed at a functioning mental hospital in Prague built in 1910, in a wing that had been closed for over 50 years. Building 10, where many of the scenes were filmed, was where the craziest patients were taken. The basement was so creepy that Eli Roth had a string quartet playing classical music to make it feel cozier while shooting.
