Barbara Mandrell is an American country music singer, musician, and actress. She is known for a long series of country hits in the 1970s and 1980s. She had her own prime-time variety TV show on NBC that made her one of the country's most successful female vocatlists of tht period.  Her last concert was held at the Grand Ole Opry House on October 23, 1997 before retiring from performing music.
