#55 in the series. This is a 1978A-1, a true first edition (a first printing in ANY form), which we would be able to call "like new" if it didn't have the neatly written prior owner's name on an endpaper!

#55 was never printed in the 25-chapter, dust-jacketed version. It was therefore a 20-chapter picture cover from day one, 1978.

Whoo-hoo, this lovely thing looks as if it hasn't been read. Vivid colors on the front and back covers and spine. Tight binding. Crisp, clean, like-new corners and edges.

Lists to itself on the back cover and the back inside order form. Black and white multi-scene endpapers.

The last two Grosset and Dunlaps, #55 (this one) and #56 (The Thirteenth Pearl) are collector's items, especially the first editions.

This is as new as a used book gets - except for that owner's name...
