John Guille Millais is one of the most respected of British ornithologists and bird artists. Between 1890 and 1914, He wrote a series of books on birds and other natural history subjects. J G Millais spent a little more than a year in South Africa collecting the knowledge needed to compile "A Breath of the Veldt". Considered by scholars to be a culturally important work, this was his second book detailing his travels and the wildlife of the places he journeyed through. |

Good overall condition. Green cloth covered boards with gold gilt lettering. General edge wear and corner rubs thru cloth, light fraying at spine edge. Light foxing primarily on Electro Etching tissue backed pages. Other pages bright and clean with some edge wear. No markings in text. Binding still intact but showing partial separation issues at front and rear boards. (see photos)
