Olympian by Tiffany and Co.
The Olympian pattern, which was introduced by Tiffany & Co. in 1878, is the most elaborate and complex of all Tiffany flatware designs. Each piece of Olympian is designed to illustrate a well-known story of Classical mythology. The subjects vary with the size of the handles on the different pieces.
Rare sterling silver Trout Server measuring 11 1/4" in the pattern Olympian by Tiffany and Co. The handle of this piece features the third motif in this pattern, which is Paris, the son of Priam, presenting to Venus the golden apple. This piece features a beautifully gold-washed serving area. This piece is featured on page 216 in the "Tiffany Silver Flatware 1845-1905: When Dining Was an Art" by William P Hood Jr with Rosalyn Berlin and Edward Wawrynek. It is monogrammed (see photo) and is in excellent condition.
