Henry LaForet and his wife Harriet were artists in New York. They supported their family with their artwork through the Great Depression and through the 1950s, 1960s and into the 1970s. Henry generally painted flowers on silk, and painted irises specifically.
Eugene La Foret, a relative is a highly respected painter with vast experience spanning decades. He owns a studio in Manhattan, New York, and signs in a similar fashion, but his works are mostly landscapes.
