Vinyl plays nicely (play-tested). Cover looks great; light scuffing (front/back). Inner sleeve is original (plastic). Spine is easy-to-read with very mild wear. Little shelf-wear along top/bottom-edge and corners. Opening is crisp with signs of light use. (Not a cut-out.)
Joyous Music Box Christmas is a holiday album of Christmas music played on antique music boxes. The liner notes by Teo Macero and Rita Ford note: "Before the days of radio, hi-fi, and television, how did people enjoy music at home? Those who could sing or play a musical instrument were much in demand to entertain their families and friends. Those less gifted had to rely to a great extent on music boxes until the perfecting of the player piano and Edison's invention of the cylinder phonograph opened up the still-developing technology of recorded sound. The music boxes heard here represent major types of automatic musical instruments which were developed in Europe and the United States...Rita Ford is known internationally as an authority on the many varieties of musical boxes and related items." Mrs. Ford, prior to her death, owned the only music-box shop in the country.
