Deaf since childhood, Fred Schreiber earned a college degree, helped the war effort in a munitions plant and started a family before going to Washington, D.C. to work tirelessly to help the deaf community. From 1966 to 1979, he was Executive Secretary of the National Association of the Deaf. This oversized book contains his biography,, some of his articles and speeches and tributes from a few of his many friends. Minimal wear on the book, with a small name on the front pastedown. The jacket has a few short edge tears and some shallow chipping. Out-of-print - a scarce first. (Also in this booth is another book relating to the deaf, Tales From a Clubroom.)
