The Mifflin County Historical Society announces the publication of A Mifflin County Christmas by local author Forest K. Fisher.  The book will take the reader to Market Street in downtown Lewistown for some holiday window-shopping, parades and other holiday activities across the county over a span of five decades, from the 1920s into the 1960s. Fisher delved into the Historical Society newspaper archives for this snapshot of Christmas through the years as seen in the pages of Lewistown’s daily The Sentinel. This journey reveals happenings at Christmastime through articles, advertising and news reports, supplemented with vintage photographs.
