Vintage 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy restrike photograph (not a vintage original photo printed at the time it was taken but one printed from the original negative at a later time) from the classic silent film drama/romance, THE EAGLE, released in 1925 by United Artists and directed by Clarence Brown. A wanted Russian lieutenant (Rudolph Valentino) becomes a masked vigilante seeking
vengeance upon the man (James A. Marcus) who stole his family's land, only to fall for his
charming daughter (Vilma Banky).
The image features a wonderful exterior long shot inside a wooded setting of pretty Mascha Troekouroff (Vilma Banky) sitting side-saddles on her horse as she is stopped by masked bandit, The Black Eagle (Rudolph Valentino) (AKA Lt. Vladimir Dubrovsky) as he playfully leans his arm on the saddle behind her while gazing up at her and smiling. This vintage restrike photograph, which was most likely printed in the 1930's or 1940's, was printed from the original negative and features very fine detail and beautiful contrast. It is in fine+ condition with random signs of light wear along the top edge, on the top right corner, and on the bottom corners; and two light 1 in. creases in the background area of the right of Valentino's bent elbow; and two tiny smudges in the bottom half of the right border.
