'Quick-Release' is the name of a type of clasp versus the 'Tongue & Hole-in-Strap'.   The Quick-Release buckles allow the collars to be easily placed on/off a cat without having to wrestle a ball of fur and claws, which can be a problem with the Tongue & Hole-in-Strap type.

The fabric used on SPANDEX collars is slick and smooth, so once you have the length of strap that you want for your pet’s neck, sew a stitch at the adjustment slider to keep it in place.  A stich can be easily removed if your cat is still growing and the length of the strap needs to be extended.
